Hope everyone is enjoying the summer and it is hard to believe that it is almost a month since the kids started vacation. While looking for recipes to finish up the last batch of strawberries in the fridge, I stumbled upon this recipe and I was surprised to see apple as an ingredient. Pectin is normally used in jelly and jams to help them set and apple has it naturally. The resulting jam was of the right consistency and it took minutes to put together. Off to the recipe. Recipe from here.

Hi…it’s my first time making jam. Is it possible to make this jam using a bread maker??
I doubt it would be possible. Will check with my friends who have a bread maker and let you know if they have any suggestions.
Made this jam yesterday following your instructions (I doubled the recipe) but it’s more watery than the pic shown…any idea why is it so?
May be you need to simmer for a bit longer since it is also double the recipe.
Can I just cut up the apples into small pieces instead of grating it?
Yes. Cut it into tiny pieces.
I see the mason jar in your photos…are you preparing the jars for canning or can you use any jar and place the end result in the fridge?
I used an available jar (not mason) and stored in fridge. It stays good for about 2 weeks.
