Rasam powder is a staple in most Indian houses. Rasam can be made in minutes by having this powder on hand. This is my mom’s version and I cannot believe this is the first time I am making it although I have been using it for 10 years . I normally pack it from India when we visit. This is a simple powder with just 3 ingredients.
The key is to roast the ingredients until a nice aroma floats. Stay near the stove while roasting as it can turn black pretty quick. This powder can be used to make a variety of rasams like paruppu rasam, tomato rasam, garlic rasam, etc. Stay tuned for some interesting rasam recipes. Off to the rasam powder recipe.
