Tofu Bajji (Deep fried snack)

Cold weather calls for deep fried snack. For bhajji, we prepare a simple batter and usually coat vegetables like onion, potato in it and deep fry. Boiled and sliced eggs can also be used. For a change I have used tofu here. As with any deep fried snack, this one was also welcomed and enjoyed by the family. The crunchy exterior and soft tofu was loved by all. Off to the recipe.
Tofu pieces coated with batter and deep fried.
Homemade ghee can be made following this link
Press tofu for 30 minutes. Mix the ingredients under "for tofu" and marinate the sliced tofu in it for about 30 minutes. Bake the marinated tofu at 400F for about 30 minutes turning once in the middle.
Mix the ingredients "for Bhajji" except oil. The batter should be thick like dosa batter. Coat the tofu pieces in the batter; heat oil and deep fry the pieces.
When they are golden brown remove and serve warm with ketchup.
