Have you had overripe bananas that you forgot to use up? I seem to be ending up with it off and on and even if there are a few blackened spots, the kids consider it rotten
. Rather than making banana bread or muffin that does not always fit in my busy day, I have turned to making these smoothies. The frozen bananas add a lot of creaminess to the smoothie. To add some flavor and because my kids love peanut butter, I have added that as well.
In fact my first choice would have been nutella, but I did not have that and went with peanut butter. You could also make a thicker version using less milk. I like to call it banana ice-cream and I am sure kids would love it too. Either way it tastes excellent. Now you know what to do with the over ripe bananas right
? Off to the recipe.
