Lemon Dal | Cooks JoyI am going to take a small break from deep frying and today’s post is a very simple, but comforting dal with a hit of lemon. Dal being versatile and tasty is part of our daily menu. Some dals can be whipped up in no time and will be a perfect side for rotis. I have never tried adding lemon juice to dal and was surprised at how tasty it was.Lemon Dal | Cooks JoyIt became an instant hit and the family loved it. Dal and rice are my staples and a ton of meals can be planned with just those two. Off to the recipe.

Lemon Dal (Dhal)

Tasty dal with a hint of lemon.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Cook moong dal and keep aside.

Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add fenugreek, toor dal, asafoetida, green chilly and curry leaves. When the toor dal turns golden brown add the cooked moong dal, salt and turmeric. Simmer for five minutes and add lemon juice.

Turn off the stove. Serve with rice or rotis.
