Some recipes are quite simple and I normally assume everyone knows it. That assumption is probably wrong because everyone starts cooking from basics and I had been wanting to post basics like cooking rice for pulao, preparing particular vegetables and so on. I am resuming the series with cooking quinoa.
Quinoa is very healthy and I have started experimenting with it only in the past few months. I have a lot of plans in mind to replace rice with quinoa in some dishes and I am slowly getting to those. For now, most of the recipes involve using cooked quinoa and that is where this post comes into the scene. Off to the easy recipe.
How to cook Quinoa

1. Wash quinoa in water.
2. Take quinoa and water in a vessel. Quinoa:Water ratio is 1:2.
3. Add salt and bring to a boil.
4. Simmer until quinoa is cooked. It took around 20 minutes for me.
5. Quinoa looks pearly with a white ring around it when cooked. Fluff it with a fork.
