Mango Lassi (Mango-Yogurt Smoothie)

Lassi is a yogurt based drink common in India. Summer is in full form in some parts of the world and I see a lot of fruit related events floating. Although we are still enjoying the spring season, there have been a few days where the temperatures were in the 90F range. So to beat the heat and also to finish up the can of mango pulp, I decided upon this easy beverage. The mangoes we get at my place are not the same as what I used to see in India and they have no taste. So we stick with the mango pulp for the most part. You could use fresh mangoes if available.

Adjust the quantity of ingredients as per your preference. You can add more yogurt if you like a tangy lassi and so on. Off to the easy summer cooler.

Ingredients

  • Ice cubes as needed
  • 1.5 cups mango pulp (Refer to notes if using fresh mangoes)
  • 1.5 cups yogurt (curd)
  • 1.5 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)

My Notes

  1. If using fresh mango, remove the skin and cut the fruit into pieces. Add these pieces instead of the mango pulp.

Method

1

Take ice cubes in a blender.

2

Crush the ice cubes well.

3

Add mango pulp.

4

Add yogurt. Blend well.

5

Taste and add sugar if needed.

6

Blend again.

Tasty drink ready to beat the heat.
