Avocado Chapati

Avocados are very healthy and I am always on the lookout for new things to try with it. Initially the only thing which I used to make with avocado was guacamole. So when I first came across this chapati I had to immediately try it out. This was a few years ago and I was very pleased with the results. The chapatis were soft and buttery thanks to the avocado. Since then these chapatis have been playing an important role in our dinner menu. Even leftover refrigerated chapatis were soft when reheated the next day.
This is a neat way to disguise avocado for the avocado haters. Except for the few green streaks here and there, no one could say that there is avocado in the chapati.
Check out my other avocado recipes.

3 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup mashed avocado (about 2 avocados)
Salt to taste
Water to make the dough
Oil to make chapatis

Adapted from Mahanandi

Scoop out the flesh from the avocados using a spoon. Refer to this post on how to remove the avocado pit.

Mash the avocado.
Take whole wheat flour and add salt and mashed avocado.

Crumble the mix together.

Add water and make a dough. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
Take a small portion of dough and roll into a circle.
Apply oil over the circle and fold to form a semi circle. Apply a little oil over the semi circle.

Fold again forming a triangle.

Roll out the triangle.

Heat a tawa and place the rolled chapati.

Cook both sides until done. Use a little oil for both sides.

That is it. Tasty and soft avocado chapati ready. We had it with soya chunks curry.
