I split this post off the seedai post, so I could refer to it easily. Homemade rice flour is used in a lot of snacks like murukku, seedai and so on. In India, this flour is made in huge quantities in the mill and is used to prepare a variety of snacks during Diwali. Off to the recipe.

Preparing rice flour that is used in a ton of snacks.
1. Soak rice in water for 15 minutes.
2. Drain and spread on a cloth for 30 minutes.
3. Take in a blender and powder finely.
4. Sieve the powder to remove coarse particles and finally dry roast the powder. (This step is mainly for seedai)
2. Drain and spread on a cloth to dry for 30 minutes.
3. Dried rice.
4. Take in a blender and grind to a fine powder.
5. Powder ready.
6. Sieve the ground powder. This is important as particles in the rice flour can cause seedai to burst.
7. Dry roast the sieved powder to remove any moisture. Again this will help to prevent seedais from bursting. Rice flour ready for making seedai and other goodies.
